GNM

GNM is a 3-year course followed by 6 months of mandatory internship. GNM course deals with the nursing practice of a niche segment like maternity care, post-trauma, rehabilitation, mental care, data collection, etc.

GNM Syllabus consists of subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing etc. GNM 1st Year subjects are Bio-Science, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing Foundations, Community Health Nursing etc. After the GNM Nursing course, students can pursue a career in nursing such as Clinical Nurse Specialists, Legal Nurse Consultants, etc.

GNM Eligibility Criteria
  • Should have passed Class 12 with Englishand must have secured a minimum of 40 per cent in aggregate in the qualifying examination and English separately from any recognized board. Candidates from State Open Schools recognised by the State Government and the National Institute of Open Schools (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are also eligible.
  • Should have passed class 12 with PCM/B(PhysicsChemistryMathematics/Biology) and English securing 40 per cent in aggregate in vocational ANM course from any Institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
  • Should have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English securing 40 per cent in aggregate in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
